YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Boston Group says that it plans to consolidate its manufacturing operations at 225 Youngstown-Hubbard Road and its Medford, Massachusetts-based headquarters to newly renovated industrial space in Ravenna.
The move would mean the relocation of 28 jobs from the Youngstown plant, according to a source. The Youngstown-Hubbard Road site houses a plastics-injection molding operation.
According to data from Dunn & Bradstreet, the Medford headquarters employs approximately 60.
Boston Group would relocate the Youngstown operations next year after it moves its headquarters. The new location is a 308,000-square-foot modernized warehouse and office building at 150 Loomis Parkway that is owned by Cleveland-based Industrial Commercial Properties LLC.
“This property is a great fit for Boston Group’s new headquarters and brings important new jobs to Ohio and the city of Ravenna,” said Austin Semarjian, vice president of leasing and acquisitions. “Our goal is to provide real estate solutions for companies and bring new life to properties.”
Boston Group designs and manufactures custom metal and plastic retail displays, fixtures, and display protection items for retail stores, hospitals, and pharmacies.
“From our new manufacturing location our team will use their vast experience to integrate all our varied capabilities to bring real life solutions that address a variety of needs,” Russell Rubin, Boston Group president and CEO, said in a statement. “This exciting move is critical in allowing us to meet our existing and future demand.”
ICP acquired the Ravenna building in 2021 and made renovations to accommodate tenants such as Boston Group, said Chris Semarjian, owner of ICP.
“When we acquired this property in March of 2021, we knew what needed to be done to put this property in the position to attract high-quality companies,” he said. “We completely renovated the interior and exterior of the building, including the lighting, fire suppression and a refresh of all the docks. Boston Group will be a great partner for years to come.”
