Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health will name a behavioral health facility currently under construction Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion in honor of Sharon and Richard Juve, who donated $10 million toward the $60 million project.

The 60-bed, seven-story inpatient and outpatient facility is set to open in January.

"We are grateful to Sharon and Rick for this truly meaningful and transformational gift that will have a profound impact on the health and well-being of the communities we serve," said Cliff Deveny, Summa Health president and CEO, in a provided statement. "We are proud to recognize their generosity with naming our new behavioral health pavilion, the future home of the Summa Health Behavioral Health Institute, in the Juve family's honor."

Richard Juve is chairman of compounder Americhem Inc. in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, a company started by his father, Dick Juve.

The Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion will offer integrated behavioral health services including inpatient treatment, hospital-based outpatient programs for addiction and mental health, the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, Summa Health Medical Group outpatient programs and a renovated 14-bed detox unit on the Akron campus.

"We are proud to support Summa Health as one of Akron's long-standing institutions," said Rick Juve said in a news release. "We also hope that our gift brings further attention and support for behavioral health issues."

"We're aware in today's world that many families and family members are dealing with serious mental health issues," Sharon Juve added. "It's comforting to know Summa is making a difference."

The pavilion's completion will help fulfill Summa Health's mission to provide the highest quality medical and behavioral health care by integrating behavioral health services into all areas of care, treating the whole person — body, mind and spirit, according to the release.

Joseph Varley, chair of the Summa Health Department of Psychiatry, noted in the release that one in four people struggles at some point in their life with behavioral health issues.

"The support from Sharon and Rick is needed more than ever," said Varley, who also holds the Jim and Vanita Oelschlager Endowed Chair in Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. "Thanks to their generosity, Summa Health will provide life-changing care to thousands of patients right here in our community at the Juve Family Behavioral Health Pavilion."
