Chengdu, an industrial city in China’s Sichuan province, is extending its strict Covid-19 prevention measures in 13 city districts, trying to prevent the further spread of the virus among its 21 million residents.

The newest measures, as outlined by the government in its WeChat social media site, start Sept. 8 and require daily testing of workers in their towns and villages . Residents in high-risk areas must stay at home, and those in medium-risk areas are limited to their neighborhoods.
